Macedonian Film Professional Association celebrates 70 Years of its existence

The Macedonian Film Professional Association was founded on 21st May 1950. The Association was established as a social organization enclosing film workers of all profiles. Jovan Boshkovski was elected first president of MFPA and Milton Manaki for first cinematographer in the Balkans was elected for first honorary member of the Association. Its members were and have been leading author names behind the Macedonian film achievements.

The Association is an instigator, founder and organizer of the International Film Camera Festival “Manaki Brothers”, the first and oldest world film festival dedicated to the creativity of world cinematographers. MFPA is member of the European Federation of Film Directors - FERA, the International Association of Cinematographers – IMAGO and the European Producers Club – EPC. The Association performs the selection of national candidate for the Oscar award by the Academy of motion pictures, art and science, in the category of best international film. Currently over 100 film professionals are members of the Association.

The greatest jubilee of MFPA will be officially celebrated in September this year.
